This is an unusual side dish that will get everyone’s taste buds singing.
1 sheet puff pastry, defrosted
1 (approximately 13 ounces) jar fig preserves
1 red onion, very thinly sliced
2 pears, very thinly sliced
2 teaspoons cinnamon-sugar mixture
2 tablespoons margarine, cut into pieces
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Press puff pastry into bottom and up sides of a rectangular tart pan. Spread fig preserves across the bottom, then onion, then pears. Sprinkle with the cinnamon-sugar and dot with margarine. Bake until browned – 45 minutes to 1 hour.
