Yeshiva of Far Rockaway’s upcoming 56th commemorative event will be held I”YH on Sunday, February 23rd, and will honor its legendary founder and Rosh Yeshiva, HaRav Yechiel Yitzchok Perr, zt”l. As his first yahrtzeit draws near, this event will reflect on his dedication to building the Yeshiva, molding its talmidim, and developing a flourishing Torah community. The evening’s theme, “Derech Ayson: The Path He Walked, The Road We Continue,” centers on the unwavering growth of the Yeshiva’s limud haTorah, following the trail of chinuch Rav Perr, zt”l, paved and continuing to thrive in his absence. His talmidim have truly flourished in carrying his legacy forward, with many now serving as part of the Yeshiva’s esteemed hanhalah, led by the new Rosh HaYeshiva, HaRav Yisroel Moshe Perr, shlit”a.

In addition to his impact on his talmidim, Rav Perr’s published works on Mussar, Bitachon and other topics (including Shoshanas Ha’amakim, Mind Over Man, Faith Over Fear, among others) continue to inspire thousands, serving as powerful guides to developing deeper self-awareness and trust in Hashem.

Beyond his unparalleled Torah leadership and profound mussar insights, Rav Perr, zt”l, carried a deep and abiding concern for all of Klal Yisroel. For five decades, he fought for Torah and ehrlichkeit in a Far Rockaway that was far from the vibrant Torah community it is today. His unwavering commitment and foresight empowered him to shape a yeshiva that now stands as a beacon of Torah and mussar. His mesorah and mesiras nefesh for the growth of Torah continue to inspire the yeshiva’s talmidim, hanhalah, and Rebbeim today. 

Yeshiva of Far Rockaway’s annual dinner will take place at The Sands Atlantic Beach. As part of the evening’s program, a special tribute will be dedicated to Rabbi Yehoshua Kalish, zt”l, a longtime esteemed mechanech at the Yeshiva, recognizing his profound impact on generations of talmidim.
