Irgun Hatzolah rushed to Ashkelon, their hearts heavy with the knowledge that a family of eight had lost their home to a rocket’s cruel strike. But when they arrived in the shattered city, they were met with even more distressing news. Across the street, a couple seemed to be in deep trouble. Since the joyful celebration of Simchas Torah, the wife had been spotted from time to time, but her husband remained hidden, shrouded in an ominous silence.

With compassion and courage, Irgun Hatzolah went to the couple’s apartment, and what they discovered there was heart-wrenching. The husband was trapped in a bunker, crippled by fear, unable to face the world. He hadn’t even dared to step out for a simple shower since before Yom Tov. The urgency of the situation could not be ignored, and Irgun Hatzolah decided they had to bring this couple to Bnei Brak, where the husband could find solace and receive the therapy he so desperately required.

Upon their arrival in Bnei Brak, Irgun Hatzolah didn’t just leave them to fend for themselves. No, they ensured the couple had a safe place to stay and connected them with a dedicated social worker who could begin the long and difficult journey of therapy for the husband’s wounded soul.

But Irgun Hatzolah’s mission was not yet complete. They returned to Ashkelon to fulfill their original duty: rescuing the family of eight. As they loaded the frightened family into their vehicle, the sirens wailed their warning, and panic hung heavy in the air. Irgun Hatzolah, ever vigilant, guided the family to take shelter in ditches on the roadside.

Finally, after these heart-pounding moments, they successfully transported the shaken family to the safety of Bnei Brak, with gratitude in their hearts for the protection of the Almighty, Baruch Hashem.
