Our Openings
Currently, we foresee having a middle school ELA, middle school science, 4 th grade general studies, and 2nd grade Limudei Kodesh opening for the coming school year. These will all be half-day positions, but some can be combined into full time positions. Please find the job description below. These positions present a unique opportunity for young and aspiring educators to have a significant impact on the growth of our school and our Jewish community.
The ideal candidates for these positions would be energetic and capable Rabbeim, Morahs, and teachers with a strong passion for elementary school education. They will demonstrate the ability to teach a variety of different types of learners, a willingness to collaborate with a community of educators, and the ability to make a strong contribution to a growing Jewish day school.
These positions have the potential to be coupled together to create a full time position. We also have interest in interviewing a husband and wife team who would be interested in tackling multiple openings.
Judaic Studies Rebbe or Morah, 2nd Grade
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following skills:
- Strong interest in teaching elementary grades
- Warm engaging personality, love of children
- Supporter of constructivist learning theory, collaborative learning instruction, and a learner-centered school environment
- Develop curriculum
- Communicate effectively with teachers and parents
- Connect with a broad range of families and perspectives within the Jewish community
- Strong knowledge of instructional principles and practices
- Positive and warm leader capable of cultivating the talents of students
Experience and education:
- Undergraduate degree
- 2 years teaching experience in a Jewish day school, preferred
ELA, Middle School
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following skills:
- Ability to teach multiple grades of middle school ELA
- Strong knowledge of instructional principles and practices
- Understanding of children and how to develop self-motivated learners
- Strong interest in teaching middle school grades
- Warm engaging personality, love of children
- Supporter of constructivist learning theory, collaborative learning instruction, and a learner-centered school environment
- Ability to teach separate boys and girls classes in 6th , 7th , and 8th grades
- Work with staff to develop curriculum and implement its execution
- Communicate effectively with teachers and parents
- Connect with a broad range of families and perspectives within the Jewish community
- Capable of being a role model for middle school students, building a relationship with them and taking them on occasional trips
- Positive and warm leader capable of cultivating the talents of students
Education and experience:
- Undergraduate Degree
- 2-3 years of experience teaching in a Jewish day school, or other comparable experience preferred, not required
STEM, Middle School
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following skills:
- Ability to teach multiple grades of middle school science
- Warm engaging personality, love of children
- Supporter of constructivist learning theory, collaborative learning instruction, and a learner-centered school environment
- Develop curriculum
- Communicate effectively with teachers and parents
- Connect with a broad range of families and perspectives within the Jewish community
- Strong knowledge of instructional principles and practices
- Positive and warm leader capable of cultivating the talents of students
Education and experience:
- Undergraduate degree
- 2 years teaching experience preferred
- Masters degree in Education/Science and/or Science Teacher certification preferred
Fourth Grade General Studies
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following skills:
- Ability to teach fourth grade math, ELA, science, and social studies
- Strong knowledge of instructional principles and practices
- Understanding of children and how to develop self-motivated learners
- Strong interest in teaching middle school grades
- Warm engaging personality, love of children
- Supporter of constructivist learning theory, collaborative learning instruction, and a learner-centered school environment
- Work with staff to develop curriculum and implement its execution
- Communicate effectively with teachers and parents
- Connect with a broad range of families and perspectives within the Jewish community
- Capable of being a role model for middle school students, building a relationship with them and taking them on occasional trips
- Positive and warm leader capable of cultivating the talents of students
