Kosher, Skilled Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility Opens in Freehold, NJ

Freehold, NJ

Family caregivers seeking a brand-new choice for sub-acute rehabilitation or long-term nursing care – in a distinctly Jewish environment – can now find it at The Jewish Home for Rehabilitation & Nursing. Located in nearby Freehold, we are New Jersey’s only skilled nursing facility state-designated for a Jewish clientele.

The Jewish Home for Rehabilitation & Nursing believes that all our residents – whether they are with us for post-hospital rehabilitation, long-term residency, secured memory care, hospice or respite – benefit from a vibrant, Jewish cultural experience in a gracious, spiritually uplifting setting. In addition to state-of-the-art rehabilitation, our upscale, 150-bed facility is loaded with amenities such as well-appointed private and semi-private suites, gourmet, Glatt-Kosher cuisine under the hashgacha of the OU, a shul on the premises, a Shabbos elevator, and full-time Rabbinical care and counseling. Expert clinical care is delivered by a team of dedicated nursing professionals and top medical specialists.

When Chana Fromowitz required a skilled nursing facility for her mother-in-law’s short-term rehab stay, she decided to look into an alternative to the nursing homes in her neighborhood. “I heard about The Jewish Home for Rehabilitation & Nursing from a friend of mine, and I saw their ad on a billboard in Lakewood. Although there are a number of nursing rehab centers in town, none are that close to me that I could walk to them on Shabbos, so that was not factor in my decision. I also had past experiences with some of these nursing facilities, and, this time, I was ready for a change. So, driving to a new facility was not a problem. My overriding concern was how well my mother-in-law was going to improve with daily physical therapy, and handle her separation from us on Shabbos. With her dementia and other issues, I felt she would do best in a place that was beautiful and airy, with really caring staff. When I contacted The Jewish Home, they were extremely helpful and friendly, and I was quite satisfied with their kashruth standards under the OU. When I saw the place – I was in awe! It is so new and modern that it looks like a hotel! I knew my mother-in-law would be very comfortable with the entire Jewish vibe all around. In the end, we did place her there for rehab. The nursing, physical therapy and overall care was excellent. In addition to my family, she had a few other visitors during the week. We also liked the fact that there was a Rabbi on the premises during the week and on Shabbos, and that there is a shul in the building. I would definitely consider bringing Mom to The Jewish Home for Rehabilitation & Nursing again.”
