Things are pretty shaky here in Israel.   Bayit Lepletot – Girls Town Jerusalem are doing everything to keep the children in our care in a positive frame of mind.  What better way to do that than by getting everyone into the Chanukah Spirit!!  

Bayit Lepletot – Girls Town Jerusalem has been a loving Home for girls from Israel and all over the world for the last 70 years – 50 years in the Girls Town campus alone.   Our girls come from such a wide range of backgrounds.  Whether they are orphans, immigrants or the children from homes ravaged by dysfunction or illness, Girls Town Jerusalem provides shelter and respite to hundreds of children that have nowhere else to turn.

This month, Girls Town Jerusalem is gearing up for a major Toy Drive in time for Chanukah 2018.  Along with 8 days filled with theme parties, contests and competitions, dreidels and donuts, GTJ would like to provide each and every child with a special Chanukah gift just for her.  

Part of the fun is giving the girls a chance to choose so we would like to be able to purchase gift cards for the older girls for jewelry or accessories and for the younger girls, a choice of a game, toy or doll of their dreams!   Our director, Rabbi Avraham Y. Stern who literally takes the role of being a father to all these children, will be lighting the menorah in the Home each night.  Making this Chanukah project a success is very much one of his highest priorities.

A little light can dispel a lot of darkness!!
