During this time of year every parent faces the challenge of keeping their kids occupied throughout the two months break from school masquerading as “vacation”. For some, this means sending their children off to sleepaway camp. Many others pack the children off to day camp each morning, or perhaps go upstate to their bungalow colony.
However, for some families none of these are viable options. These families are dealing with the untimely passing of a mother or a father. The children are orphans, their parent widowed. They do not have the wherewithal to occupy their offspring. These orphans face the depressing prospect of an empty summer with nothing to do, while their friends and classmates are having the time of their lives.
How can we ignore their pain this summer? Please be a part of healing their pain. They have already suffered the loss of a parent. Their mother or father is at their wit’s end: What will my child do this summer? Who will help my child now?
You can help them. Your contribution will enable these orphans to have an amazing summer just like their classmates and friends. Help them refresh and renew to be able to face the challenges both of the upcoming schoolyear and the rest of their lives without parents.
