Rebbetzin Leah Kolodetsky appeared in a rare video this week, in which she addressed the publicly directly with a request from her father Rav Chaim Kanievsky.
“Yehudim, rachmanim, bnei rachmanim,” she begins, with a serious tone.
The story she proceeds to tell is a tragic one. A young kallah living in Bnei Brak is one of many children in an exceptionally poor family. With days remaining until her chuppah, nothing has been purchased for her. “A family that is close to mine … a family of tzaddikim, good people,” says the Rebbetzin, vouching for both their character and their poverty.
It is an inspiring sight to see: Despite the hundreds of painful stories the Rebbetzin hears each day, she has chosen to take one particularly desperate kallah under her wing. It is a small peek into the life of one of the spiritual leaders of klal yisroel.
Rebbetzin Kolodetsky also stresses in the video that the call to action is a special request from Rav Chaim Kanievsky personally.
Those who wish to join these two leaders in saving a suffering young woman from humiliation and poverty can do so here for a limited time.
