It was a regular shabbos for Dovid Bergstein, age 5, and his brother Shmuel, age 2. They sat around the shabbos table with their mom and dad in their apartment in Bnei Brak, surrounded by the sound of food, guests, and zemiros. When their father Chaim left for shul in afternoon, they had no idea that they would never see him again.
As the day turned to night, and third meal sat untouched at the dining room table, their mother Naomi began to realize that something was terribly wrong. A knock on the door confirmed her worst fears: A stranger was there to tell her that her husband was gone.
Chaim Bergstein, 30 year old father of 2, passed away on shabbos after a tragic fall. His kollel’s community was deeply shaken by the tragedy. His wife Naomi is left behind to mourn with two small boys.
