Rav Dovid Chaim Stern shlit”a of Bnei Brak takes chesed to another level. This Purim, he will spend the day hand-delivering matanos l’evyonim to one hundred Israeli families hand-selected for their level of poverty. Some of the families are orphans, other widows, while still others are weighed down by medical bills and other debts.
For most, Purim is a day of happiness. However for many poor families, Adar is a time of great financial stress. While they sit at their Purim seuda, these special families will hear a knock at the door. Standing there will be a talmid chacham and mekubal reknowned for his Torah knowledge and love for klal yisroel. He will bless them, and give to them from the funds raised by Beit Avraham’s matanos l’evyonim program.
