Mother of 9 Dassi Hoffman has been in the hospital for three months following a gruesome car accident. Despite the 16 surgeries that she has already endured, she will need another 3 in order to survive.
However two unexpected factors have gotten in the way of Dassi’s recovery.
The first: The family has run out of money. Just three surgeries short of completing her journey, the family can no longer pay their medical bills.
The second: If Dassi does in fact raise the money needed to obtain the necessary surgeries, she will be unable to return home. The Hoffmans’ home is not wheelchair-accessible.
With her health described as “critical condition,” the family’s grim situation has evolved into a full-blown crisis. As Dassi suffers in her bed, a prisoner to her own pain, her 9 children live alone outside the hospital walls.
A fundraising campaign in the family’s name shows teenage daughter Tzippy. ‘We are alone in the house, two older sisters,” she says, “It is very hard to take care of 9 brothers and sisters.”
While the children struggle to survive, their mother hopes she will survive long enough to see them grow to adulthood. Donations are being accepted HERE for a limited time.
Any and all contributions will bring Dassi one step closer to her children.
