In his first appearance on a Jewish outlet, Republican mayoral hopeful Joe Lhota told Michael Fragin, host of the political “Spin Class” radio show, that he’s all pro about Anthony Weiner’s entry into the mayoral race.

“Anthony and I have been friends for over 20 years. He is a man with good ideas. He has a tremendous amount of energy. He is considered a wild card in the Democratic party. So, anything that causes chaos in the Democratic Party is good for me,” said Mr. Lhota, when asked about Weiner.

Mr. Lhota also previewed Mr. Weiner’s path to victory, although it is the same base he’s relying on in the general election. “Anthony is going to run right down the middle and appeal to those Reagan Democratic voters. While the remaining candidates are all running to the left of each other, Anthony is going to be a voice of moderation,” Mr. Lhota told Fragin.
