The Aaronite hasidic sect of Satmar that follows Rabbi Aaron Teitelbaum has endorsed Bill de Blasio’s campaign for Mayor.

Members of this Hasidic community comprise thousands of Democratic primary voters in both the Boro Park and Williamsburg communities. The leadership of the community has thrown their support to Bill de Blasio, citing his longstanding relationship with the community and his plans for expanded education and affordable housing for the City.

“I am honored to have the support of the Satmar community,” said Bill de Blasio. “I plan to work together with them as Mayor to ensure every New Yorker in every borough has access to quality education, housing, and healthcare.”
