Heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected this morning and afternoon before clearing out late this evening. Urban and flash flooding are possible with this system. Severe weather cannot be ruled out.
Light rain to the west will move into the City this morning. Rainfall totals of 1-2 inches are expected with locally higher amounts of 3 inches possible. Rainfall rates of 1-2 inches in an hour are possible depending on the development of storms. The best chance for strong to severe weather is late this morning into the afternoon. Strong and severe storms can bring heavy rain and gusty winds.
Severe storms over Pennsylvania are tracking towards the southern part of the City and are expected to reach the area near 10 AM.
Rain will start to taper off in the evening and clearing out by Midnight.
Winds today will be out of the south at 5-15 MPH with gusts in excess of 40 MPH possible with thunderstorms and severe weather.
