A New York City man who spent a year in jail for a robbery he didn’t commit has sued the city for $16 million.
Ronald Bozeman of Brooklyn filed the federal lawsuit last week.
According to the Daily News, the suit charges that the city jailed him on bogus charges. He was accused of holding up two men at gunpoint and robbing them of $9,000 in August 2011.
A judge dismissed the case last December and freed Bozeman who was being held without bail.
The city declined to comment.
