Congressman Michael Grimm (NY-11) today endorsed Joe Lhota for mayor. Mr. Lhota, a former deputy mayor in the Giuliani Administration, has also been endorsed by Staten Island Councilmen James Oddo and Vincent Ignizio, Assemblyman Joe Borelli and the Staten Island Republican Committee.
“As Rudy Giuliani’s deputy mayor, Joe Lhota has already proven he will deliver results for Staten Island,” said Congressman Grimm. “Whether it was closing Fresh Kills or eliminating the fares on the ferry, Joe was there leading the way for us. He will be the mayor Staten Island needs and deserves.”
“I’m sincerely grateful for Congressman Grimm’s endorsement of my campaign for mayor,” said Mr. Lhota. “Staten Island is critical to my campaign and its been incredibly humbling to receive so much support here. Under my administration, Staten Island will no longer be the forgotten borough and I look forward to working with Congressman Grimm and the rest of Staten Island to bring needed reforms to city government.”
