A new ferry service is set to debut on Memorial Day in Red Hook, connecting the neighborhood to Manhattan.

The ferry will run from Pier Eleven in Manhattan to Van Brunt Street in Red Hook. It will also make a stop at the Ikea.

Workers at Ikea and the nearby Fairway Market say the ferry service will make a big difference to their businesses, which are still recovering from Sandy.

Free transfers will be available between the Red Hook and northbound East River ferries.
