NYC: Snow Expected Wed Afternoon Through Thurs Morning


An area of low pressure is expected to track from Arizona, across the southern United States, to an area southeast of the New York City metropolitan area on Wednesday bringing snow. Snow will begin to fall Wednesday afternoon and taper off early Thursday morning.

The National Weather Service is tracking another storm that may impact the area Saturday night into Sunday; however, it is too early to provide an accurate forecast.

PRECIPITATION
Snowfall will begin to fall in the afternoon on Wednesday with the best chance of snow after 7 PM. Snow is expected to move out of the area before sunrise on Thursday. A total of 2-5 inches is expected across the city.

There is a moderate level of confidence in the overall forecast; however, the confidence is higher that this system will not produce more than 5 inches of snow.

Friday: 44/29

WINDS
Tuesday: sustained winds 15-20 MPH with gusts of 35 MPH possible.
Wednesday: Sustained winds 5-10 MPH

A Winter Weather Advisory may be issued later today.
