On June 17, 2014 at approximately 5:45 pm a Ramapo Police Officer on patrol came upon a one car motor vehicle accident on Hemion Way near the intersection of Cragmere Rd., in the Village of Airmont.

The Ramapo Officer observed that a 2013 Audi had collided with a tree. The investigating officer determined that the sole occupant of the car, Daniel R. Hawley, age 57 of Airmont NY had been operating the motor vehicle while intoxicated. Mr. Hawley did not sustain any injuries as a result of this accident. He was arrested at the scene and was transported to Ramapo Police Headquarters for processing. He was charged with “Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated”/More than .18% Blood Alcohol Content and “Driving While Intoxicated”. Both are misdemeanors.

He was released to the custody of a family member after posting $200 cash bail. He is scheduled to appear in the Village of Airmont Court on July 3, 2014 at 5:00 pm.
