At 2:10PM, the Ramapo PD responded to 95 Highview Road, Suffern, for a house fire. Heavy smoke was coming from the home. It is believed that only one occupant and two dogs were inside the home when the fire started, and all were evacuated. The one female occupant was being treated at the scene for smoke inhalation by Rockland Paramedics and Ramapo Valley Ambulance. Tallman FD was operating at the scene, and both Suffern FD and Monsey FD responded for mutual aid. The Ramapo Fire Inspector and O&R also responded to the scene. Traffic is restricted on Highview Road between Spook Rock Road and College Road for fire operations.
This is currently an active fire operation, and no determination has yet been made as to the cause of the fire.
