Major Storm Damage Reported In Rockland County [UPDATED 10:00PM]


weather5:10PM (Thursday): The Fire Department along with other emergency personnel are responding to numerous reports of trees down and wires burning at multiple locations in Haverstraw and Stony Point. There is reports of one home whose roof was blown off.

Some of the streets badly hit are: Slater Drive (Stony Point), Debby Lane (Stony Point), South Liberty Drive (Stony Point), Halgren Crescent (Haverstraw), Benson Street (West Haverstraw).

UPDATE 10:00PM (Thursday): A storm cell battered a portion of Rockland County Thursday, leaving behind broken trees, snapped power lines and damaged homes.

Multiple trees were knocked to the ground in West Haverstraw after the storm swept through between 4:30 and 5:30. No injuries were reported.

Scattered storms will continue to soak the tri-state Friday, but it will clear out by Saturday afternoon, making way for a sunny and cool, comfortable weekend, meteorologists say.
