On August 5, 2013 at approximately 3:40 pm, Ramapo Police responded to a report of a bicyclist struck by a motor vehicle on Union Rd., in the area of Grandview Ave., in the Village of New Hempstead.

The bicyclist, a 44 year old Spring Valley man, reported that he was struck from behind by a motor vehicle that was proceeding southbound on Union Rd. The vehicle and operator fled the scene of the accident. The bicyclist could not provide a description of the vehicle or occupants. The bicyclist sustained non life threatening injuries. He was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital by Spring Hill Ambulance.
