A new police report says there was no criminal intent behind last week’s explosion at Nyack College that injured eight people.
Orange and Rockland Utilities says there’s evidence excavation work was done at the campus and that a gas service line was struck and pulled by heavy equipment like a backhoe. That pipe was then disconnected allowing gas to build up and find its way to storm or sewer drains under the Sky Island Lodge academic building, which was damaged last Tuesday.
