12:20PM Tuesday: Emergency responders are on the scene of an explosion in the interior of a building at Nyack College, according to the Nyack Fire Department.
Fire officials say it appears to be a major gas explosion and that multiple people are trapped.

UPDATE 12:40PM Tuesday: Mike Donovan from Orange & Rockland Utilities tell Eyewitness News that it appears to be a gas explosion. He does not believe they had a crew working at the school or making any repairs when it happened.
The force of the explosion blew out windows and doors.
One nearby resident heard the explosion, and said it was very loud.
Up to seven people have been taken to Nyack Hospital. Officials said the injuries are not life threatening.
