Photos were taken on Sunday afternoon, when a fire which started in a garage, spread to the attached house located at 7 Sherman Street. The fire left three families homeless, but no injuries were reported. According to a report in LoHud, the building is being investigated as a possible illegal boarding house, that has been cited for lacking smoke detectors.

Numerous fire departments were dispatched from other villages to assist in fighting the blaze.
