A child was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Washington Ave. and Jackson Ave. in the village of New Square just before 9:00AM, Thursday morning.

A Ramapo Police accident investigation at the scene revealed that a 6 year old male ran into the roadway in front of an oncoming vehicle and was struck by the vehicle knocking him to the pavement. The child immediately got up from the pavement and ran to his residence on Washington Ave and told his father. The child suffered minor injuries and was transported to Nyack Hospital by Hatzolah Ambulance along with his father.

Driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and was interviewed by the investigating officer and no summonses were issued.
