A Spring Valley man has been indicted by a Rockland County grand jury on charges of felony assault in connection with an incident involving police officers.
It is alleged that at 11:15 p.m. on May 13, Jason Rickens of 19 North Main Street in Spring Valley refused to comply with orders to stay back as officers investigated a domestic assault case in Spring Valley.
Rickens, who was holding his 1 ½-year-old son, threw a punch at one of the officers which struck another officer in the face.
After a struggle, Rickens was placed under arrest.
As a result of the struggle, two officers were injured and treated at a local hospital.
Rickens was indicted on two counts of felony assault, as well as resisting arrest and endangering the welfare of a child.
