Areas in Rockland are expected this week to receive environmental sensors that will monitor the new Tappan Zee Bridge construction. Brian Conybeare, the special adviser to the governor on the Tappan Zee project, says the sensors will monitor noise and air quality. Conybeare says residents will be able to monitor the readings on a special website.
If the sensors register too loud of a noise level, Conybeare says the construction will be temporarily shut down.
