US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has ordered the deployment of the USS Georgia, a guided missile submarine, to the Middle East, underscoring the growing tensions in the region.

In addition to the submarine deployment, Secretary Austin has also directed the Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier strike group to expedite its deployment to the Middle East.
