The wage negotiations between representatives of the doctors and the Treasury hit another stalemate Wednesday.
As the disruptions in the health system enter their 108th day, doctors and residents in hospitals across Israel again walked out in the middle of their shifts, in protest of the failed wage talks, which they say will reduce employment conditions to “slavery,” should they come to pass.
Doctors at Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center staged an organized walkout, and began marching towards the Israel Medical Association building in Tel Aviv.
The protesters were shouting “Bibi, don’t kill the public health system.”

The last time there was a doctor’s walkout in Israel, deats fell by 40 percent.
Maybe we’re better off without them for a while.
Physicians in Israel make about one third what physicians make in the United States for similar training and experience. That works there because they don’t have to borrow money to attend medical school, but it makes it almost impossible for an American physician to make aliyah.
