Interior Minister Meir Sheetrit says he will revoke the bylaw banning the sale of pork in Netanya even though he himself keeps Kosher, according to Ynet News. “The sale of pork must be allowed for the benefit of the consumers of this product,” he says.
“The city of Netanya is obligated to send its municipal laws to the Justice Ministry, where they will determine if the proposal is even legal and it will be transferred to the me for authorization,” said Interior Minister Meir Sheetrit of the bylaw.

If all laws were enforced in Israel (like not opening stores on Shabbos to sell Harry Potter) I would be more understanding that Sheetrit “needs” to allow the sale of Pork.
BUT…since anything goes….so why not outlaw pork?

No jokes….a big influence on me was a frum guy I met in college. in a tense meeting of Jewish organizations he kept his cool, smiled, and war very respectful of everyone. I was very impressed. I recall thinking “if this is what Orthodox Jews are like, I want to be one”. I did not become frum the next day….but it had a very positive impact.
