The London newspaper Al-Hayat reported today, that the UN is mediating a deal between Hezbollah and Israel to secure the release of the two abducted IDF soldiers taken hostage by the Hezbollah last July. The deal is expected to be secure by this summer.
According to the report, Israel would free a considerable number of Arab prisoners, among them Palestinians, Syrians, and Jordanians, in exchange for missing army reservists Eldad Regev and Ehud Goldwasser.
Meanwhile, another report in a United Arab Emirates newspaper said Wednesday that a prisoner exchange between Israel and Hezbollah, which will include the two Israel Defense Forces soldiers held by the Lebanese-based guerrilla group, will be concluded by the end of the summer.
