According to the Jerusalem Post, Egyptian officers warned Palestinians that it’s possible that Israel would reenter the Gaza Strip if they did not stop firing Kassam rockets into Israeli territory. This comes on the heels of yesterdays rocket barrage and the plot to kidnap additional IDF soldiers. Meanwhile, PM Olmert met with his cabinet to discuss the IDF response to the attacks. Infrastructures Minister Binyamin Ben Eliezer said that if Hamas kidnaps a soldier, the IDF will not hesitate to enter the Gaza Strip and extract the Palestinian Authority Prime Minister from his home.

In my opinion, I feel a pointed, direct, and swift retaliation to take place. The fact that the IDF soldier is still in Gaza baffles me.
Ben Eliezer is full of baloney. I’m sick and tired of Israeli “officials” huffing and bluffing, and nobody takes them seriously anyway so they should just shut up.
Ynet is reporting “No Action” to be taken by IDF to retaliate.

If you don’t take them seriously, you won’t be bothered by their constant lies and chicanery.
Many politicians are full of baloney, Israeli ones in particular. Who believes anything they say?
Just to point out how meaningless Ben-eliezer’s threat is, if Gilad Shalit is still in his captors’ hands, why doesn’t Ben-Eliezer “not hesitate to enter the Gaza Strip and extract the Palestinian Authority Prime Minister from his home” (sorry for the double negative)?
