In the case of the government-appointed Turkel Committee designated this week to probe the Mavi Marmara commando operation, the Israeli left-wing community is working more expeditiously than usual, petitioning the High Court of Justice on Tuesday to dissolve the committee.

The petition was filed by attorneys Gabi Laski, Limor Goldstein and Neri Ramati, who call on the court to dissolve the committee on the grounds it did not receive an authorized legal mandate that would permit it to investigate the commando operation and the government’s actions as it should.
