1000s March for Israel in Finland

The atmosphere in Helsinki on Thursday was definitely pro-Israel as thousands of people took part in an Israeli solidarity rally. They waved Israeli flags and decried the biased media coverage of the Gaza flotilla operation, along with the unjustified world condemnations of Israel.

Interestingly, the entire Finish Jewish community is estimated to be about 1,500, with officials indicating most of the participants in Thursday’s events were non-Jews who simply were unwilling to be part of the sham, the world seeking to portray Israel’s actions stopping a Gaza-bound ship smuggling weapons as an inappropriate or illegal operation.

Israeli Ambassador to Finland Avi Granot walked with marchers, who he explained simply wanted to send the world a message, that they stand behind Israel and the Jewish State’s right to exist.
