Preliminary Approval of Bill to Adopt Currency to the Needs of the Blind


A bill promoted by MK (HaBayit HaYehudi) Uri Aurbach passed its preliminary reading in Knesset. The legislation calls for new paper currency to be different sizes, facilitating differentiating the currency of a note for the blind and visually impaired community. The bill also calls for including special engravings in coins to facilitate non-visual identification as well.
