Authorities on Tuesday night found two children, two and four, locked in a vehicle in a parking lot of Rambam Medical Center in Haifa. A passerby in the parking lot detected the children in the vehicle at about 9:00pm, informing hospital security.

While security ordered an immediate response, police were summoned to the scene too.

The driver was learned to be a physician from Kfar Kana, who told police he ran into the hospital to visit a family member, deciding to leave the children in the car, fearing if he took them into the hospital, they may pick up an illness.

Police detained him for questioning and may charge him with endangering a minor.
