According to a report in Haaretz this morning, if you are a Gold or Platinum member of El Al’s Matmid frequent flier club, then your e-mail addresses have become public knowledge due to a company glitch.
The incident began with an e-mail El Al sent out before Pesach, informing its Platinum and Gold Matmid frequent flier members that due to the holiday, seating could not be confirmed in advanced. The mail was sent by mistake by “cc” distribution, so all recipients were able to see other members’ details. Responses to the e-mail message were automatically distributed to all recipients as well. One recipient said he received dozens of e-mails following the message sent by El Al.
This is not the first time that such an incident has occurred in El Al. A number of years ago, the company erroneously issued a list of e-mail addresses of Gold and Platinum Matmid frequent flier members – and issued an apology.

Please keep in mind please, that this is not a COMPUTER glitch, rather a HUMAN mistake – as is the case in pratically ALL such “computer” mishaps.
