Court Cancels Restraining Order against Ben-Givir

The Jerusalem District Court on Sunday afternoon removed a restraining order slapped on Itamar Ben-Givir last week, prohibiting him from coming within 500 meters of White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, who is visiting Israel with his family. The move was symbolic more than significant since Emanuel is leaving Israel.

The court pointed out that Emanuel cut his trip short, planning to leave Israel Sunday night, and Ben-Givir promised not to hound him at the airport.

The court expressed its puzzlement over just what laws were broken to justify the restraining order, and both sides agreed, leading to the cancelation of the legal order.
