Minister of Environmental Affairs Ze’ev Elkin visited the Amona expellees who have been living in a high school dormitory in Ofra. The minister visited the protest hunger strike tent on Wednesday 17 Adar. The tent was set up opposite the Prime Minister’s Residence.
Elkin expressed solidarity with them, some having launched their hunger strike fourteen days ago. Elkin met with the leaders of the effort along with Likud activists. Elkin told him that there can be no doubt that the government will have to keep its promise and build new homes and a new community for the expellees. According to the agreement, the new community was to have been completed by March 31, 2017. The work on this community is yet to begin.
