For the PA (Palestinian Authority), the announced ban of Israeli products originating in communities throughout Yehuda and Shomron is not just a political statement, but a policy that is being enforced with tenacity.
Under the banner of ‘You and Your Conscience’, a list of no less than 500 banned products is being distributed to homes throughout the PA, informing residents that anyone dealing in the products, violating the ban faces, 2-6 years imprisonment along with a fine of up to $15,000. Those apprehended trying to import banned products face fines and imprisonment as well, in addition to losing their operating license and having their vehicle impounded.
PA officials explain that to date, $200 million of these products were purchased annually and not they are working to shift that business into the local economy.
Organizers explain they are learning from the actions of Gandhi, who succeeded in expediting the British withdrawal by his defiance and boycott. They also reject Israeli claims that the boycott will harm the PA economy due to loss of jobs, explaining if Israel is so concerned, it can open the Green Line into ‘Israel proper’ and permit some 200,000 workers back into the country.

A ‘list’ of banned Israeli products?
Do they mean then, that that there are Israeli products that are ‘not’ banned?
I never hard they ‘ever’ allowed ‘any’ Israeli products in.
This is the first I heard they ‘did allow’, any.
That is the ‘news’ here in my opinion not the ban, itself.
Many Many years ago there was a “black List” that doesn’t apply anymore.
Here they are talking about products made over The Green Line and they use tons of Israeli goods and have been living that way for years. I don’t think they will be able to implement it and if so, Israel does not have to supply them with anything, including jobs where some of these products are manufactured.
