Belgian Foreign Minister Steven Vanackere will arrive in Israel on Sunday for a three-day official visit.
The Belgian FM and his hosts will discuss various issues, including the Israel-Belgium bilateral relationship, the process with the Palestinians, the Iranian issue and the situation in the north. This is the first visit of a Belgian Foreign Minister to Israel since April 2007.
In addition to a working breakfast meeting with his counterpart, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Avigdor Lieberman, FM Vanackere will also meet with President Shimon Peres, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Chairperson of the Opposition Tzipi Livni.
The talks between FM Vanackere and his hosts will focus on the promotion of Israel-Belgium bilateral relations and other issues on the agenda such as the process with the Palestinians, the Iranian issue and the situation in the north.
The visiting foreign minister will visit Mount Herzl and Yad Vashem, and will lay a wreath on Theodor Herzl’s grave and in the Hall of Remembrance.
