Jordanian Takes Anti-Israel Boycott to New Level

Hundreds of protestors in Jordan took part in the burning of Israeli products as the Arab world intensifies its efforts to boycott Israeli items. In the background of recent repeated messages against Israel by Jordan’s King Abdullah who seeks to enlist the international community’s support, warning Israel is threatening the future of al-Aqsa Mosque, hundreds of Jordanians on Saturday took part in the nation’s observance of Nakba Day, burning Israeli manufactured foods.

Just Friday, Jordanian religious leaders announced a ban on purchasing Israeli foods, followed by the burning of products in Amman’s central marketplace on Saturday. According to an al-Quds al-Arabi report, 51 Jordanian religious leaders affixed their signatures to the religious ban, warnings member of the Muslim community that Israel continues to “pillage Arab lands”.

The moderate Jordanian leaders also told followers that as Muslims, they are compelled to support jihad efforts to bring an end to the Israeli occupation of Arab lands.
