A male and female sustained very light injuries in an erev shabbos shooting attack north of Ofrah in Shomron, at the British Police Station Junction between Ofrah and Shilo. B’chasdei Hashem, the two were only injured by flying glass, the result of gunfire striking the vehicle. They continued driving to Ofrah to seek assistance.

The al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigade, affiliated with the Fatah party of PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) boasted responsibility for the attack.

A PA (Palestinian Authority) news agency however stated the attack was to avenge the death of an Arab teen found dead along a road in the Ramallah area, blaming settlers for shooting him to death after he threw rocks at vehicles. This allegation has not been backed by any official Israeli source at the time of this report.
