In what appears to be a racially motivated hate attack, vandals sprayed swastikas and hates slogans on the kever of a member of the Ethiopian community who recently died and was interred in a Beersheva cemetery. According to the details of the police complaint filed by the bereaved family, the hateful message “death to niggers” was written in Russian alongside swastikas on the woman’s kever.

Racial tensions in the capital of the Negev recently resurfaced when members of the Ethiopian community last week protested against segregation in a kindergarten in which the black and white children are kept in separate rooms.
