Hundreds of avreichim took part in a motzei shabbos protest in Ramot, including local rabbonim, against the decision of Mayor Nir Barkat to evict chareidi classrooms to make room for students from outside the neighborhood.

At the end of the event, a petition was signed by the participants which will be given to the mayor, Education Minister Gideon Saar and MK Moshe Gafne, who heads the Knesset Finance Committee.

Shai Horowitz, a representative of the parents’ committee reports the community is supported by rabbonim shlita and they will not permit Mayor Barkat to oust the local chareidi students from a building to make space for children to be bused in from other areas of the city.
