Officials report a sharp increase in the number of illegal border crossings into Israel from Sinai during the first quarter of 2010, recording the number as 4,520. During all of 2009, there were 4,519 infiltrations IDF and Israel Police officials report. Officials add that on an average, 350 Africans seeking work cross the border illegally from Sinai to Israel.
