Explaining the bill as an attempt to preserve Israel’s democracy, MK (Yisrael Beitenu) Moshe Matalon is seeking to strip convicted Yitzchak Rabin assassin Yigal Amir of his right to vote.
Matalon feels that someone convicted of an act of terror, murder, or trying to undermine Israel’s democracy should no longer enjoy the right to vote, to impact the future of the nation.
Matalon explains that someone who murdered a prime minister of Israel should not be privileged to cast his ballot towards influencing the future of the nation.

Doesn’t surprise me. israeli government punishes Jewish heroes, while celebrating Arab terrorists as “courageus freedom fighters”
Let’s see all Arab terrorists with T.Z. lose voting rights instead.
Is Amir out of prison?
I did not know any country allowed prisoners to vote anyway.
Anyway if Meir Kahane’s assasin had been Israeli, I’ll bet no one would be screaming to take away ‘his’ right to vote.
Also why are they concerned with this now?
Amir killed Rabin many years ago, they waited a heck of a long time to start worrying about his voting rights.
They do not want it to be a bill that is directly punitive for Yigal Amir so they are wording it ambiguously:
The wording on the bill “…any man who kills a prime minister in the month of October during night time while the Prime Minister is either coming to or leaving a rally shall be denied the ability to vote.”
Will the members of the supreme court still be allowed to vote?
“Anyone…. trying to undermine Israel’s democracy” should be denied the right to vote?! In that case, all Israel Supreme Court justices should be denied voting rights. They are not elected by the public and that are not even elected by those who ARE elected by the public! They then make autocratic decisions based on their own worldview rather than based on Israeli law (laws which were legislated by elected members of the Knesset). If that does not undermine democracy, what does?
MOST people do NOT believe that Yigal Amir was the one who assassinated Rabin and even many of the radical blind left believe that the actual killer is still on the loose.
All Evidence indicates a conspiracy
1) The Kempler video shows that Amir’s gun did not shoot rabin – he did not react to any of the discharged shots.
2) Peres is seen outside Rabin’s Limousine talking to security guards.
3) Peres presented a false song sheet, with fake evidence, blood and 1 bulelt hole. If it had been in rabin’s pocket, and folded, it would have 4 holes when opened, not one.
4) It took over 20 minutes for rabin to arrive at Ichilov, even tho it is 1 minute drive. he arrived in an ambulance.
5) Dr David Niv, a pain specialist at Ichilov was assasinated , as he was a material witness.

Yet another grandstanding politician desperate for publicity and adulation.
As they say on many web sites, “Do not feed the troll”.
It’s not as if he controls a large voting bloc.
This is a crude attempt for a party of people (of questionable Jewish decent) to get some press coverage. I am sure the Mr. Amir could care less about it.
