Israel’s Holy Sites Authority has established an information number to assist anyone heading to Meron for Lag B’Omer, providing information on traffic conditions, parking availability and bus service. One may phone 1-700-500-679.

Agency officials urge visitors to use public transportation, explaining private vehicles will not be permitted pass the park-and-ride areas under any circumstances. Parents are urged to provide children with bus tickets as well as telephone contact information in the event they get lost. Zaka is operating a hotline number for lost children, 1220.

Handicapped drivers seeking special parking may utilize the Safsufa lot and the Ein Hozim lot. There will be special free shuttle service from those locations for persons with physical limitations provided by Ezer Mizion. To make arrangements, one may phone 057-310-6202, 057-310-6203 and 057-310-6204.

The main bonfire will be lit by the Boyaner Rebbe Shlita, carrying on the tradition of former years. In consideration of concerns of chilul shabbos, the lighting will only begin at 11:00pm. Officials in Meron are calling on the tzibur not to start any bonfires before 9:30pm.
