While Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has already announced his intentions to attend a Cairo summit next week to re-launch diplomatic talks with the PA (Palestinian Authority), PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) is not as quick to appease the White House, sending mixed signals to Washington.
A Cairo summit was discussed this week between US President Barak Obama and Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak. After the two agreed, the US president then spoke with Netanyahu, and after he agreed, with Abu Mazen.
In the meantime, the Saudi al-Watan newspaper reports the Arab League is recommending to Abu Mazen to reject the latest initiative presented to him in Ramallah earlier in the week by US special envoy Senator George Mitchell.
